Legal
Privacy
Many readers of this blog have good reason to worry about who is watching. So we keep it simple.
What this site collects
Nothing beyond the ordinary request logs our web host keeps for every website, such as the page requested and the time. This blog does not set cookies (except the language cookie described below, and only if you choose a language), does not run advertising or social media pixels, and does not load third-party analytics. The fonts are served from our own server, so reading a post does not send your address to a font service.
Translation
The globe button offers machine translation by Google Translate. Nothing from Google loads until you choose a language. When you do, your browser stores a small cookie named googtrans that remembers the language, and Google's translation script runs on the pages you read, under Google's privacy policy. Choose English to turn it off.
The deadline calculator
The deadline calculator runs entirely in your browser. The dates you enter are not sent to us or anyone else and are not saved. The calendar file it can create is made on your own device.
Search
The search box runs entirely in your browser. What you type is not sent to us or to anyone else.
When you contact us
If you call or email the firm, we receive what you choose to tell us and use it only to respond and to check for conflicts. We do not sell or share it. Please do not send your full case file before you have spoken with an attorney.
Changes
The contact form
The form on the contact page sends what you type to this site's own mail script on our web host, which emails it to the firm at info@usherlegal.com. No outside form service is used. The email includes the page you sent it from and the time; it does not include your IP address, and we do not keep a separate copy on the website. You do not get an automatic reply. We use what you send only to respond to you and to check for conflicts.
If we ever add analytics, this page will say so before it goes live and will name the service used.
